48 Days To Go!

So I promised I'd talk about how I planned to let my husband know about the surprise. First of all, I'd like to let you know that I was able to arrange his days off of work. Since it is a weekend getaway, I only had to get a Friday and Monday off.
I am going to pack all of our things as soon as I get home from work on the day before the cruise departs. I will make sure my checklist is all cleared, and then place the bags under our bed. He will get home at around 7:30pm, and we'll probably watch some TV or whatnot. When I see an opportunity, I will quietly take the bags out and onto our Expedition. That night I will make sure to turn the alarm off for the next morning.
On Friday morning we will both be sleeping way past our wake up time, and when he realizes this he'll completely freak out. He'll start waking me up and telling me we are late. I will calm him down as best I can and reassure him that everything is fine, because this is part of his anniversary present. IF he doesn't believe me, I will show him the redacted email I sent his boss requesting the day off.
I'll explain that this is a surprise I've been planning for a while, and that we will be leaving at around 1:30pm. I will also let him know that his parents will be taking us because parking is horrible and really expensive where we're headed.
At approximately 1:30pm, we will leave the house, and I will have packed everything he'll need for that day(passport, cruise docs, etc.). On a side note, I ordered mock tickets back in November explaining all the details of the cruise and how it was a surprise(They're really cute. I'll upload a picture of them tomorrow). Now, he's never been to this particular Port, and so he will have no idea where we are truly headed. Once I see the entrance to the Port, I will give him the mock tickets and wait for his reaction. I want to get it all on camera, and then upload it here.
That's what I have planned so far. I you have any ideas for me, leave me a comment! Thanks for reading. Have an awesome night!
Tomorrow I'll blog about my Cruise Packing List: YAY!

49 Days To Go!

So, here's a little back story. My husband and I met about five and a half years ago, and we were married last year, April 4th. He is my true love and honestly my soul mate. So naturally I have been thinking of ways to celebrate our first year anniversary since we came home from our honeymoon.
I thought of every possibility: dinner at a nice restaurant paired with a hotel stay in Miami Beach, tickets to CinĂ© Bistro, a weekend stay at a quaint bed-and-breakfast, etc. But nothing really seemed to catch my attention.
One warm November day I was leafing through our honeymoon album and reminiscing on all the good times we'd had, and that's when it hit me: A Surprise Anniversary Cruise! What a great idea it was. And so, on November 7th, 2010, I booked a cruise trip on Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas. It's a weekend cruise, leaving Miami on Friday and returning on Monday.
And the best part is that he has no clue! That is what I am mostly excited about. I keep replaying a vision in my head of when he finally figures it out: PRICELESS! That's it for me today. Tomorrow I'll post about how I want to let him know. Here are a few pictures of our wedding. Enjoy!
