I know I'm a little late but...

I decided to start a countdown for my next cruise. I have exactly 50 days left today! So, who's going on this cruise, you may ask?
Caleb & Jennine, Maritza & Luis, Cristina & Jasiel. So yeah, just family, but we'll have a blast! So I was looking at some posts on cruise critic, and there was this thread on toenails. I guess it's true, almost every woman gets a pedicure before going on a cruise, but I'd never thought of it in depth. So there were all these cute pictures on there, but my favorite one is this one:

I so wanna do this! And since we'll be on the Carnival Liberty, it's ideal! Well, I'll come back tomorrow and post some past cruise pics!! See ya!

38 Days To Go!

I apologize for not writing in yesterday. It was a busy day. I was out until 10:00pm looking for a gift to give a pregnant coworker. And when I got home, I prepared lunch for my husband and laid out my clothes because (drum roll please) I went to the GYM in the morning!! I woke up this morning at 5:45am, at first debating whether I should really get up, but my willpower was strong enough. I got up, did my business, got dressed, and took my butt to the gym! I finished, and took a shower, and was at my job 45 minutes early. Bad news though: I lost my wedding ring!! I left it on the soap dish at the stall. I called and also went back but my ring was gone. I was so disappointed. But when I told my hubby, he said these exact words: "It's alright hon. We will get another one soon. I will surprise you. What is your ring size again?" Is he a keeper or what?! I L♥VE HIM!!

40 Days To Go!

I bought a pair of sandals for the cruise today, and a pair of flats for work/cruise. I also bought a cute black mini-dress that was on sale at Target: $5. What a steal. It's getting real close now. I've only got one month and ten days to go. I can hardly wait. I haven't weighed myself but I've been doing good with my diet so I hope I've lost at least 2 lbs. I'll let you know on Wednesday. That's pretty much it for me today. Can't wait to keep dreaming cruise!

41 Days To Go!

It's a Saturday and a boring one at that. I've been at my mom's house all day because Caleb is helping my dad in his addition. So here I am, and I decided to just check in. Oh, and I booked another cruise this morning!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be a family vacation cruise. So far my mom, my dad, my sister, my brother-in-law, my husband and myself are going. There are two more couples that we invited and they said they'd book too, but nothing yet. I probably will start blogging for that one after our anniversary cruise, but I'll have quite a few days to count down: 190 to be exact...Yikes!

42 Days To Go!

I'm sorry I didn't write yesterday. It was a hectic day. I cam from work and went straight to the gym. 45 minutes later, I was at my parents house helping them figure out some cruise thing (they too are counting down the days to their cruise), then went straight home to take a shower. My husband was home when I got out, and I dressed quickly because we had an appointment with the tax agency (we finally did our taxes!). After we left the tax agency we headed to Chili's and had dinner and drinks. Whew! We were tired.
So far my diet is going great. I am controlling myself so far and am feeling positive about my weight loss efforts. I can't wait to weigh myself next Wednesday and track my progress. By the way, I plan to lose 18 pounds. Let see if I can do it.
Well, that's pretty much it for me today. I'm off to a friends house to help her make her wedding favors, and I'm also doing laundry. See you all tomorrow :)

44 Days To Go!

I started a diet today in order to be 18 lbs. lighter by April 6, 2011. Nothing big or expensive. I'm just gonna see if I do the Special K diet, or a variation. See, I purchased Post's Honey Bunches of Oats and am pairing it with Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. They advertise that you can lose up to 6 lbs. in 2 weeks, and that equates to 3 lbs. a week. I am really looking forward to sticking with this, at least until cruise day! I want to get myself at least one new bathing suit. Something like these:
Let's see if I can fit in a size 8/10 by then!

45 Days To Go!

So, I have one month and a half to go...I like the sound of 45 days better.  :)
I recently became a member of cruisecritic.com (GREAT website for the cruise-addicted!), and let me tell you that I am hooked. I can go on at any time and there are always so many interesting, funny posts to read. I'm literally on it 24/7. I started out reading under general topics, but today I took a gander into the shore excursions and found lots of good tips on excursions I booked.
And that gave me an idea: I should talk about the excursions I booked for this upcoming cruise. Please see below:
Coco Cay: Wave Jet Tour - This guided 50-minute adventure will take you around the Berry Islands, neighboring Coco Cay. You will watch a safety video and receive an orientation, before boarding your Personal Watercraft for an informative and exciting guided tour. Some of the sights you may see include the Great Stirrup Cay Lighthouse, Slaughter Harbor, Star Fish Alley and the abandoned island community of Cistern Cay.
Nassau: Blue Lagoon Island Deluxe Beach Break - Giving you wonderful views of Paradise Island, your double-decker ferry will take you on a 40-minute ride to Blue Lagoon Island. Nestled within, is a calm lagoon, with idyllic aquamarine waters, palm trees and activities for you to enjoy. Your tour will include round trip transportation, unlimited use of the big boss aqua noodles, floating beach mats, inner tubes and a game area (volleyball, basketball,  ping pong and jumbo board games). A picnic style lunch is also included with your choice of a grilled sandwich (Angus Hamburger, Angus Cheeseburger, all beef hot dog,  all white meat chicken burger or a veggie burger) along with chips, fresh fruit and a fruit punch or lemonade. Bask in the sun, swing on the hammocks or participate on the many activities available.
I'm anxiously awaiting April 8th, 2011. See you guys tomorrow!

47 Days To Go!

Hello! I promised I'd upload a picture of the mock tickets I ordered to surprise my husband. I tried to get a really good picture, but they were all coming out blurry. So this is the best I could do.
Also, I forgot the packing list I was going to upload on here at work. I'll definitely upload it tomorrow. Here's a little info on our upcoming trip: We will be going on a 3-Day Bahama's Cruise aboard the Majesty of the Seas on April 8, 2011. Our anniversary would really be April 4, but the prices for that weekend were way more expensive(believe it or not). The ship was recently dry-docked and underwent an extensive renovation. Let's see how it looks on embarkation day. I'm sure it won't disappoint. Here are a couple pictures of the renovated ship:

Can't wait!!

48 Days To Go!

So I promised I'd talk about how I planned to let my husband know about the surprise. First of all, I'd like to let you know that I was able to arrange his days off of work. Since it is a weekend getaway, I only had to get a Friday and Monday off.
I am going to pack all of our things as soon as I get home from work on the day before the cruise departs. I will make sure my checklist is all cleared, and then place the bags under our bed. He will get home at around 7:30pm, and we'll probably watch some TV or whatnot. When I see an opportunity, I will quietly take the bags out and onto our Expedition. That night I will make sure to turn the alarm off for the next morning.
On Friday morning we will both be sleeping way past our wake up time, and when he realizes this he'll completely freak out. He'll start waking me up and telling me we are late. I will calm him down as best I can and reassure him that everything is fine, because this is part of his anniversary present. IF he doesn't believe me, I will show him the redacted email I sent his boss requesting the day off.
I'll explain that this is a surprise I've been planning for a while, and that we will be leaving at around 1:30pm. I will also let him know that his parents will be taking us because parking is horrible and really expensive where we're headed.
At approximately 1:30pm, we will leave the house, and I will have packed everything he'll need for that day(passport, cruise docs, etc.). On a side note, I ordered mock tickets back in November explaining all the details of the cruise and how it was a surprise(They're really cute. I'll upload a picture of them tomorrow). Now, he's never been to this particular Port, and so he will have no idea where we are truly headed. Once I see the entrance to the Port, I will give him the mock tickets and wait for his reaction. I want to get it all on camera, and then upload it here.
That's what I have planned so far. I you have any ideas for me, leave me a comment! Thanks for reading. Have an awesome night!
Tomorrow I'll blog about my Cruise Packing List: YAY!

49 Days To Go!

So, here's a little back story. My husband and I met about five and a half years ago, and we were married last year, April 4th. He is my true love and honestly my soul mate. So naturally I have been thinking of ways to celebrate our first year anniversary since we came home from our honeymoon.
I thought of every possibility: dinner at a nice restaurant paired with a hotel stay in Miami Beach, tickets to CinĂ© Bistro, a weekend stay at a quaint bed-and-breakfast, etc. But nothing really seemed to catch my attention.
One warm November day I was leafing through our honeymoon album and reminiscing on all the good times we'd had, and that's when it hit me: A Surprise Anniversary Cruise! What a great idea it was. And so, on November 7th, 2010, I booked a cruise trip on Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas. It's a weekend cruise, leaving Miami on Friday and returning on Monday.
And the best part is that he has no clue! That is what I am mostly excited about. I keep replaying a vision in my head of when he finally figures it out: PRICELESS! That's it for me today. Tomorrow I'll post about how I want to let him know. Here are a few pictures of our wedding. Enjoy!
